When did you start CrossFitting?

October 2012 when SRC opened.

Why did you start?

My husband and I have some good friends that are really into CrossFit and we’ve heard about it for years and have been interested. We were really excited about SRC opening and were ready for a challenge and a change of pace with our workouts.

What were your thoughts after the first workout?

WOAH! It was so hard! The warm up was harder than most “workouts” that I’d ever done.

What is your favorite WOD?

I really liked the “600” WOD. I enjoy the workouts most that do not have heavy weights in them. I am still not as confident in that area.

Least Favorite WOD?

AMRAP 12

150 Wall Balls 20/14

90 Double Unders

30 Muscle-Ups

Wall balls are my least favorite.

What are your interests outside of CrossFit?

Spending time with my husband, family, dog and friends, traveling, movies/music, art, teaching, trying new things and anything creative.

What advice would you give someone just starting CrossFit at SRC?

Everyone has been where you are right now. Do NOT get discouraged. It will get easier and then you will just get to push yourself even harder. It is worth it, I promise! The coaches are awesome and always listen to their advice. Also, you will have days where you do amazing and there will be days that you struggle and are discouraged. Focus on the days that are good and know that everyday is a fresh beginning.

What is one thing we might not already know about you?

I was a vegetarian for 9 years and now my favorite food is BACON!
