When did you start CrossFitting?

May 6, 2013 was my first class. I had done the free class in February and the On-Ramp the Saturday before I started coming regularly.

Why did you start?

I actually had been wanting to do CrossFit for over two years. I had heard awesome things about CrossFit. I loved the idea of short, intense workouts with some competitiveness in it. And I wanted to see some serious results.

What were your thoughts after the first workout?

Ouch! (Just kidding!!) I loved it! I was out of breath and sweating and knew I’d be sore later but I never felt better! It was exhilarating.

What is your favorite WOD?

I think everyday brings something new and exciting and there’s always something I love about each class.

Least Favorite WOD?

Don’t have one!

Favorite Lift?

Power cleans. Actually, the whole bear complex is pretty awesome. But single lift would be power cleans.

Least Favorite Lift?

It’s a tie between overhead squats and snatches.

What are your interests outside of CrossFit?

Anything outdoors – hiking, camping, etc. Running and yoga. My family, reading and traveling.

What advice would you give to someone just starting CrossFit at SRC?

Work on form! It’s better to perfect form than try to lift more. It’s easy to get caught up in lifting more weight each day and being competitive with other people there, but I have to stop myself from lifting too much if I know my form is not perfect. I constantly make notes in my WOD book about the weights I lift each day – if I should add more next time or drop down and work on form. It always helps to look back and see what I was able to accomplish in the past.

What is one thing we might not already know about you?

I don’t really know! I’m sure after all of Jake’s random questions about ourselves in the mornings that I’m pretty much an open book!
