I found CrossFit back home on Oahu in 2012. I had always been active when I was younger and throughout high school, and as I got older I decided I needed to find something to keep me active again. A friend of mine introduced me to his friend who trained out of his garage at the time and since the first wod I did out of his garage gym I was hooked. I later joined CrossFit East Oahu 2013 and the rest was history.
Shortly after joining CrossFit East Oahu I got my CF-L1 and began coaching in 2013. Fast forward a few years later and my husband and I moved to Charlotte with our two dogs and began coaching at Ballantyne YMCA CrossFit. Not only did I coach CrossFit, but I began coaching strength and conditioning classes as well as an olympic lifting class. Because Crossfit introduced me to powerlifting & weightlifting, I have competed and qualified for national level meets in both powerlifting & weightlifting. I also continue to coach athletes at local and national level weightlifting meets.
Since getting my CrossFit L1 in 2013. I have continued on to receive the CrossFit Gymnastics, CrossFit Powerlifting, & CrossFit L2 certification, & USAW Level 1 Certification. I am currently pursuing my Precision Nutrition certification, and pre/postnatal coaching certification since having my son 8 months ago.
The best part about coaching for me is being able to share my passion with others. I love seeing the moment when a movement “clicks” and witnessing the confidence that builds in an athlete afterwards. My number one goal as a coach is to provide you with the tools to be able to maintain your health and fitness for life all while having fun doing so!
When I’m not at the gym you can find me at a coffee shop enjoying a nitro cold brew, at a brewery with my husband and son, or spending the day outside (preferably at a beach) with my husband, son and two dogs!
